Mellow day, didn't do much. S had slept while I wandered, plus a little in the morning, but it wasn't much, so we had a slow day, saw a few sights. Basically a day of rest & recovery in preparation for Burn night on Sunday. One funny story:

We were hanging out at Ish during the day, lounging in the center, and Tovar made a beeline for a gorgeous woman. She was sketching in a notebook, and I guess she liked babies, because she spent at least half an hour sitting and drawing with him. He was fascinated (he loves pens, and he loves hot girls) the whole time. In fact, he didn't look around for us for like half an hour! (Understandable - I wouldn't either!)

After about half an hour, he looks up to verify our presence, and sees us 8 feet away or whatever, and says "Dada! Dada!". Thinking I am being summoned I go over there and say hi, at which point Tovar loudly says "bye-bye Dada! Bye-bye!", resulting in much laughter, and I of course comply with his request.

Finally after another 15min or so, either he or we got bored, so we left.

At night, we slept crappily as usual at Flipside (loud, hot, cramped, etc.)

Shannon took T in the morning since she had gone to bed early, so I slept in a bit. It was probably hot and rainy, since that's how it was most of the time. Ran generator a lot during the days until it ran out of juice. Checked out Flipside during the day, connected with campmates, learned the RV. Cooked steak for dinner. We (well, I) did more cooking on this long weekend than we do in a month at home.

In the evening, we were offered the chance to drop acid for the first time. After some discussion, I was chosen to be the one (can't do both b/c of Tovar, I have wanted to try it for a long time, and other reasons). It was awesome, lots of fun. Energy, metaphors, repression, colors, dancing, talking.

Got up very early and I drove our pre-packed car to the airport. radium, Daniel, and others were on our flight. T slept half flight, as we were disembarking woke up and said "Home!", lady behind us asked if we lived in Austin, we laughed - T has never been away from home this long, so assumed we were done. Our bags were delayed, they got half them out and then had a problem, rumours of stopping the loading due to lightning? Took over an hour to get them all. Saw various other Flipsiders, the art car camp group and others.

Wednesday: I packed in the evening, went out to dinner w/ djdigit & integreillumine and got 6 hours of sleep. Shannon procrastinated until late, and got 3 hours of sleep. We argued a bit about her packing procrastination: Her: this is how I am, accept it. Me: It's not just about you, it affects me. Her: I can't fix myself for you. And guilt doesn't help. Me: I feel like saying that is not letting me express my frustration. And it makes me feel powerless since I can neither change you nor express my feelings. Her: It is symptomatic of a bigger problem that I am actively working on.
