I've started reading some blogs on intermittent fasting, and they recommend 15-19 hours of fasting. Today I was really hungry at 1pm, so instead of snacking I ate lunch. I figure I should listen to my body, and anyway, the diet isn't strict, and I've been eating almost nothing during the day for a week. Then I did the math, and realized that since I hadn't eaten since 7:30PM last night, that's 17.5 hours - which is a plenty long fast.
I worked through some other sample times, and realized I'd been a bit too strict. I think it's because the first book I read was the fast-5 diet, which involves not eating before 5PM. That system claims that if you eat anything at all, it'll just stoke your hunger. I find that to be false for me, which is why I've rejected it in favor of the Warrior Diet's daytime food recommendations.
Even with 18-hour fasts, if I snack at 10pm, I can eat at 4pm the next day. And if I don't snack, and finish dinner by 7-8, I can eat at 1-2pm the next day. This'll be even easier than I thought!
