See, Dexter is a nice happy show. The main character has a loving relationship, a job he enjoys and is good at, a circle of friends who are just dysfunctional enough to be entertaining, and of course, a fulfilling hobby :). Sure, he struggles a bit with intimacy issues, being true to himself, and finding his place in the universe, but hey, who doesn't? And it's pretty (mmm...Miami...sun and blue water.)
House & Dexter leave me feeling much warmer and fuzzier than BSG or Buffy...feel free to use that in your armchair psychologizing.
Maybe I'll start watching The Wire during my surgery recovery...I'm gonna need lots of TV then, at least, judging by Shannon's recovery this weekend. Maybe I should get ST:TNG too, that's the only ST I really liked, and could be fun to re-watch (plus I probably didn't see them all).
