Getting stuff done

It was also neat hanging around [info]brkvw, who has gone out and done a lot of stuff, putting his ideas into practice. Like him, I have an endless stream of ideas, but they mostly spill through my fingers, unrealized. And when I think about the ones I've done, most didn't take very long.

After [info]choiceful's early domination of our San Juan games, I've turned things around and won the last 7 in a row. I think I'm a little more effective at leveraging income into income early, leveraging income into points late, and recognizing when the shift occurs. I wish I could turn that strategic ability on my own life better, effecting leveraging my time into enjoyment and satisfaction.

WTF
are you talking about? Your seasteading work brings together your knowledge of engineering, economics, sociology and politics. Not only are you one of the few people who could do that work, you've done it very well. The manuscript is well written and your clearheadedness makes you a great spokesperson for a project that might easily be dismissed by the mainstream were it tendered in the hands of someone without an appreciation for nuance.

All that, and when the brkvw's of the world haphazardly throw themselves into the way of an oncoming stallion, you're already prepared.

Re: WTF
Actually it was the stallion that threw itself at me!

Boy, talk about being insensitive! :)

Any other traumas you want to dig up? I lost my little blue jumper when I was 5.

Re: WTF
Man, I bet that jumper woulda looked good on you...if only you hadn't lost it. Blue! What a great color!

Re: WTF
Thanks for the kind words on the book. However, I have done far less work on it than I could have. I've been writing for years, and haven't even finished the first draft. And its not due to lack of time or writing ability, its due to lack of ability to use my time effectively. I've wasted far more time websurfing and reading fiction than I've spent writing the book, and I deeply regret that, yet seem to have little ability to change it. If I'd worked an extra few hours a week for the past year or two, the book would be published.
