Saw that a while back, was interesting to see his thoughts on things since one of my research contracts for SIAI is essentially funded because of his donation.

It's cool that he's lending to support to what many people would consider "fringe ideas".

That was an interesting read, and generally I enjoyed it.

Not sure what to say about "people can easily imagine climate change but people have a hard time imagining computers running the world." Um, really?

In the general population, I think so. And even among geeks, it seems like a lot more people seriously think about the former than the latter. It is much more visceral, and so inspires more emotion, I think.
