Computers dreaming of Electric Sheep

Now this is a neat screen-saver. A never-ending series of fractal animations, each of which is new, yet too computationally intensive for one computer to create. Instead, all computers running the screen-saver are computing the next animation in parallel, while watching the previous one. When the next is finished, they download the completed work and begin anew. Even better, human users can vote on screen savers. The fractals are parameterized, and the audience vote is taken into account in a genetic algorithm for breeding new sets of parameters from the population. Its a nice encapsulation of many memes, parallel computation (a la SETI), user feedback, genetic algorithms, shiny screensavers...

Thanks for the input!! One of my profs might find that interesting so I sent it along. :)
